Leo built Advanced Clinical in 1994 as a clinical research solutions company supporting the unique needs of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. Leo is responsible for driving the growth of Advanced Clinical, and he’s focused on providing clients with a better clinical experience. Today, Advanced Clinical offers end-to-end contract research organization (CRO) services, patient recruitment and retention, functional service provider (FSP) offerings, and strategic staffing solutions.
Mr. Sheridan is the founder, CEO, and President of The Advanced Group of Companies, comprising Advanced Clinical, Advanced Resources, the WunderLand Group, and Advanced RPO. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. Michael’s College in Vermont, and he completed the Executive Management Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a recognized industry leader and has provided leadership to a variety of professional organizations, including the National Association of Computer Consulting Businesses, American Staffing Association, and Young Presidents’ Organization.
Jim has been Advanced Clinical’s Chief Financial Officer since 2002. He oversees all matters related to finance, accounting, and treasury. He has led the negotiation and subsequent integration of several mergers and acquisitions, negotiated several business divestitures, and negotiated more than 10 loan agreements.
Previously, Jim served as the EVP of Finance for HALO Industries, Inc., a $400 million publicly traded marketing services and products business. Prior to this role at HALO, Jim was the Chief Integration Officer, responsible for all aspects of the integration of Starbelly.com, an e-commerce promotional products company, with HALO. Before HALO, Jim had been the CFO of Starbelly.com, where he was responsible for all financial and accounting matters of the venture-backed Internet company, including equity-raising efforts and financial leadership in the sale of Starbelly.com to HALO in May of 2000. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1989 with a B.B.A. in Accounting.
Julie is a tenured executive leader responsible for all aspects of strategic planning, corporate alliances, sales and marketing, operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance Advanced Clinical. Previously with inVentiv Health Clinical, Ms. Ross served as Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Services and had oversight of Feasibility, Patient Recruitment and Retention, Global Study Start-up, Document Management and Publishing, Expedited Safety Reporting, Grants and Contracts, Clinical Trial Supply Management, and Medical Writing. She has a therapeutic specialty in urology and gastroenterology and has consulted with many clients developing products in BPH, MED, OAB, and IBS.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse with a bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Ms. Ross has been in the clinical research industry for over 25 years. She has held a number of crucial positions that have allowed her to gain comprehensive knowledge in all facets of clinical research, including Program Director for the School of Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Ultrasound at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jason is an accomplished CRO professional responsible for the overall Business Development and Marketing functions across Advanced Clinical. Jason’s diverse experience from 21 years in the CRO industry spans clinical research, proposal development, business development, marketing, general management, and staffing/functional services. His background includes the development of business partnerships in small, midsize, and large organizations, as well as integrating teams to drive performance and efficiency. Prior to joining Advanced Clinical, Mr. Casarella supported the growth and expansion of a midsize CRO through acquisition and integration activities to create a top-five global CRO. In addition, he built a department focused on sales process and delivery to support continued growth.
Jason is a graduate of DeSales University with a B.S. in Biology and is an appointed representative of the President’s Council.
Cheryle is a senior-level executive with extensive, progressive clinical research experience and is responsible for the strategic planning and tactile operations in project management, clinical monitoring, site activation, safety, and document management. She has led global teams across multiple disciplines, successfully utilizing automation to improve quality and streamline operations. Prior to joining Advanced Clinical in 2013, Cheryle was the VP of Clinical Monitoring, NA, with inVentiv Health Clinical, where she led the optimization of three Global Strategic Units: Global Study Start-Up, Expedited Safety Reporting, and Document Management and Publishing. Prior to her tenure with inVentiv Health Clinical, Cheryle was part of a strategic team with Essential CRO, where she supported the transition and growth from a Site Management Organization to a top-five, global, full-service CRO. Cheryle has therapeutic expertise in cardiovascular, urologic, dermatologic and women’s/men’s health clinical trials.
A life-long Chicagoan, Cheryle is a registered nurse in the state of Illinois, with a specialty in critical care nursing, and she attended the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a published thought leader on implementing risk-based monitoring for midsize pharma, biotech and device companies and a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
Steve has over 20 years of strategic staffing experience across the information technology and life sciences industries. Mr. Matas is responsible for leading the staffing efforts across the company, including recruitment, sales, and operations. Prior to joining Advanced Clinical, Steve served as Vice President of Sales, Health and Life Sciences, IT Staffing and Solutions at DISYS, where he was responsible for the Healthcare and Life Sciences technology practice and supported 15 of the largest global Healthcare and Life Sciences clients. He has built and led a global sales and delivery team focused on growing the IT staffing and services business.
Steve has a degree in Finance from California State University, Chico, and has completed numerous sales and leadership training programs, including Sandler Training, Holden Game Changing Sales, and Strategic Leadership Training from the School of Business at the University of Milwaukee.
Bill has over 12 years of consultative sales and leadership experience and is responsible for the development, strategy, and delivery of Advanced Clinical’s Quality Consulting Services. Prior to joining Advanced Clinical, Bill was Vice President of Life Science and Technology at a technology solutions provider, where he transitioned his team into the most profitable business unit and was a recipient of the profitable growth award for year-over-year revenue and profit growth. He has held numerous leadership positions and has been recognized as a perennial top performer for his strategic thinking, cultivation of leaders, and innovative sales techniques.
Bill received his master’s degree from Monmouth University in Business Administration. Under his leadership, Bill’s teams have received many awards in recognition of their success in building record sales and profits.
Caroline is a results-oriented and accomplished professional with more than 25 years of clinical research experience, and she’s responsible for driving global expansion, creating new service offerings, and building corporate efficiencies for Advanced Clinical. Prior to joining Advanced Clinical, Ms. Redeker has worked within multiple contract research organizations, a site management organization, and one of the first professional independent research sites. She has previously served in a corporate development role, primarily focused on the acquisitions and merger integrations of three companies. Caroline has also served in roles such as Corporate Officer, Board Secretary, and multiple-level roles within patient recruitment, site budget/contract negotiations, business development, and marketing. In the past decade, she has led and grown multiple business development and marketing teams and managed key strategic client relationships. Caroline is driven by the perspective of the client and is passionate about delivering exceptional service and a better overall experience for Advanced Clinical’s clients.
Ms. Redeker is a graduate from Central Michigan University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a double major in Finance and Management.
Kimberly is a tenured leader responsible for all aspects of quality and compliance at Advanced Clinical. Ms. Wanick has quality assurance experience in computer and pharmaceutical manufacturing, clinical and late-phase research, and auditing and compliance in computer, clinical, and research environments. Kimberly holds certifications as a Continuous Improvement Green Belt, Certified Quality Auditor from the American Society for Quality, Registered Quality Assurance Professional in Good Clinical Practices from the Society for Quality Assurance, and most recently as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute. She is also a member of the Society for Quality Assurance and is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality.
Kimberly received her master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a Specialization in Drug Development and her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in Biological Sciences.
Tim joined Advanced Clinical in March 2015 to manage the technology team. Tim has deep experience in building and managing complex business systems. Prior to joining Advanced Clinical, Tim ran the PeopleSoft practice for an international consulting firm that specialized in serving the professional services industry. Tim’s background in consulting, staffing, and financial services is ideally suited to support Advanced Clinical’s complex businesses and sophisticated client base.
Tim has an MBA from the University of Chicago and lives in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Stacey has over 18 years of global statistical and data management experience across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Stacey oversees strategic growth and operational delivery of biometrics services for Advanced Clinical. Prior to joining Advanced Clinical, Stacey was Senior Director, Statistics, at Chiltern where he was responsible for North American teams and developing and implementing the functional area’s strategy. He has held numerous leadership positions of increasing responsibility within biometrics for other CROs and led statistics, statistical and clinical programming, and clinical data management departments and projects globally. Stacey is a graduate from Sam Houston State University with both a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Master’s degree in Statistics and has contributed to and published numerous articles.
A graduate of Warwick University, Graham Belgrave has over 33 years of experience successfully leading pharmaceutical development across Clinical Operations (phases I-IV), Outsourcing & Contract Management, Project, Program and Vendor Management. After starting his career in clinical operations, Mr. Belgrave moved to senior management roles overseeing clinical operations and later outsourcing and vendor management functions for global top pharma and biotech companies. Most recently, he served as COO at a specialty mid-sized CRO headquartered in the UK. Mr. Belgrave is an active member and Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Clinical Research UK (ICR), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, a Chartered Scientist and a Member of the Institute of Biomedical Science as well as being an assessor for the Science Councils qualifications of CSci, RSci Tech and RSci.
Ivana Waller has over 20 years of business operations experience in life sciences, and specializes in operational growth for contract research organizations. For 20 years, she has guided CROs towards success by leveraging her expertise in business strategy, change management and breadth of global operational and regulatory knowledge across North America, Europe and Asia. Ms. Waller is a trusted leader with a demonstrated track record for delivering business growth. Throughout her career, Ms. Waller has held a number of senior leadership positions managing all aspects of business operations for global contract research organizations. In her most recent role, she served as Chief Business Officer, Europe and Managing Director of European operations, overseeing quality delivery and leading all European commercial functions.
