Scientist - Process Development - III*

OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Scientist III onsite in Foster City, CA. The Scientist III will support purification process development activities for biologics during pivotal and commercial development phases. This laboratory-based role will focus on bench-scale downstream purification and process characterization, directly impacting the development and scalability of biologic therapies—making this an exciting and impactful career opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Purification Process Development
•    Execute purification process development and characterization experiments in support of pivotal and commercial programs 
•    Perform bench-scale purification studies, including chromatography, filtration, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF) 
•    Support resin and membrane lifetime studies, robustness assessments, and process characterization activities 
•    Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data in alignment with data integrity standards 
•    Author experimental protocols, reports, and maintain accurate and high-quality electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) documentation 
Technical Excellence & Collaboration
•    Support implementation of new purification technologies, instrumentation, and platform improvements 
•    Troubleshoot equipment, materials, and experimental methods to improve robustness and reproducibility 
•    Maintain a state-of-the-art purification laboratory, ensuring equipment readiness and workflow efficiency 
•    Collaborate cross-functionally with upstream, downstream, and other development teams 
•    Adhere to all safety, training, quality, and compliance requirements 

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience with a Master’s degree, or 6+ years with a Bachelor’s degree required
Hands-on experience with downstream purification techniques, including chromatography and filtration, required
Experience with tangential flow filtration (TFF) required/preferred
Experience with AKTA systems and UNICORN software preferred
Strong experience in experimental execution, troubleshooting, and data analysis required

EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related discipline required
