Scientist III

OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Scientist III in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The Scientist III will support the development of protein biotherapeutics by leading purification and analytical efforts in a fast-paced research environment. This role will contribute directly to understanding protein attributes, stability, and function, making it a highly impactful opportunity within biologics discovery and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Plan, coordinate, and execute purification of biotherapeutic proteins using chromatography techniques (Affinity, SEC, CEX, AEX, MMC, HIC) 
•    Troubleshoot complex purification systems and support process development efforts 
•    Perform analytical techniques to assess protein purity, stability, and quality (HPLC-SEC, SDS-PAGE, CGE, DLS) 
•    Design and conduct stage-appropriate purification and characterization studies to evaluate protein behavior under process conditions 
•    Analyze and interpret experimental and production data to understand physicochemical properties of proteins 
•    Develop and implement novel analytical methods and evaluate new technologies to enhance purification capabilities 
•    Identify and implement automation strategies and data analysis tools to improve data quality, throughput, and workflow efficiency 
•    Collaborate cross-functionally with research and development teams to support broader biotherapeutics discovery goals 
•    Present findings and scientific insights to internal stakeholders and project teams 
•    Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and regulatory requirements 
•    Support additional protein biochemistry and purification-related activities as needed 

EXPERIENCE
Extensive hands-on experience in protein purification and analytical characterization required
Experience with chromatography-based purification methods and protein analytics required
Experience with data analysis, interpretation, and troubleshooting in a research environment required
Experience with automation, high-throughput workflows, or scripting preferred
Experience with mammalian cell culture and antibody expression systems preferred
Strong understanding of protein biochemistry and molecular biology principles required

EDUCATION
Master’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline required
