Scientist II

OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Scientist II to join a well-known client’s team in Ridgefield, CT. This role will focus on tissue processing, histological analysis, and advanced staining techniques to support research and development initiatives.
The Scientist II will play a key role in generating high-quality tissue data to support imaging and translational research, working closely with cross-functional teams to design experiments, troubleshoot methodologies, and deliver meaningful scientific insights. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative research in a collaborative and technically advanced laboratory environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Execute tissue processing workflows to prepare high-quality samples for downstream applications while ensuring consistency and adherence to established protocols.
•    Perform tissue embedding using paraffin and frozen section techniques to support accurate sectioning.
•    Conduct tissue staining procedures, including immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and histological staining.
•    Troubleshoot and optimize tissue preparation and staining protocols to ensure reproducible and high-quality results.
•    Collaborate with researchers to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret findings.
•    Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including procedures, results, and inventory in compliance with laboratory standards.
•    Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards.
•    Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and workflows.

EXPERIENCE
•    Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in tissue processing, embedding, and staining within a research or clinical laboratory setting.
•    Strong expertise in histological techniques, including paraffin embedding, cryosectioning, and tissue staining.
•    Proven experience with IHC, IF, and related imaging/staining methodologies.
•    Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize laboratory protocols.
•    Experience with HPLC, ocular tissue, skin tissue, or 3D printing is preferred but not required.
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret experimental data accurately.

EDUCATION
•    PhD or Master’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline required.
•    Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may be considered.
