OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Research Associate II – Investigation & Sustainability in Tucson, Arizona. The Research Associate II will support Product Care and Quality Team (PCQT) initiatives by performing laboratory-based investigations to address reagent quality, performance, and compliance issues for on-market products. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product reliability and customer satisfaction, making it a highly impactful career opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and execute a wide range of experimental protocols to support investigation of reagent performance and quality issues
• Perform bench-based assays and experiments related to primary stains, advanced staining reagents, special stains, and bulk reagents used in H&E, IHC, and ISH applications
• Analyze experimental data, document findings, and prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses
• Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records in compliance with internal standards
• Troubleshoot experimental issues and implement corrective actions to resolve product or process challenges
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Manufacturing, Global Operations, Complaint Investigation, Customer Support, Product Development, Quality, and Regulatory
• Participate in technical teams focused on failure investigations and product improvement initiatives
• Present experimental procedures, findings, and conclusions to project teams and stakeholders
• Monitor laboratory work to ensure adherence to quality standards and promote a “Quality First Time” mindset
• Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes, workflows, and overall work environment
• Apply sound judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve project objectives
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2+ years of relevant laboratory or industry experience required
Hands-on experience with reagent-based or assay-based laboratory work preferred
Experience with histology or staining techniques (H&E, IHC, ISH) preferred
Experience in troubleshooting and investigation-based laboratory work preferred
Experience working in a cross-functional, team-based environment required
EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline required
