OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Product Composition Coordinator in South Portland, ME. The Product Composition Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with product safety regulations and internal standards, while supporting the development and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product composition systems. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory for finished products and intermediates, including support of EHS-related sections
Establish and manage Product Safety systems and programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Technical Product Support to integrate Product Safety requirements into processes
Coordinate with internal sites and external vendors to collect and validate product composition data
Conduct product and component assessments to evaluate regulatory impacts across the supply chain
Support development and execution of Product Stewardship and Product Safety strategies, including long-term planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Create standardized templates and processes for product composition data collection and SDS generation
Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and quality expectations are met
Serve as a subject matter expert on product safety, chemical regulations, and SDS requirements
Communicate technical information clearly across diverse stakeholder groups
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the biotechnology or related industry, with a focus on product safety and/or product stewardship preferred
Demonstrated experience with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation and regulatory compliance
Proven track record of managing technical projects and working cross-functionally
EDUCATION
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in science or a related discipline required

Technical Communication. You clearly and effectively communicate complex scientific and regulatory information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
