Lab Tech Jr.

OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Laboratory Technician Jr. in Gretna, Louisiana. The Laboratory Technician Jr. will be responsible for operating analytical instrumentation to perform confirmatory testing on non-negative samples in compliance with SAMHSA and other regulatory guidelines. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant testing results, making it an excellent opportunity within a regulated laboratory environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Operate and maintain Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) and LC-MS/MS instrumentation for confirmatory testing 
•    Perform testing on non-negative samples in accordance with SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other applicable regulatory standards 
•    Execute quality control (QC) procedures to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability of test results 
•    Analyze and interpret analytical data, ensuring results meet established acceptance criteria 
•    Document all laboratory activities, results, and deviations in accordance with regulatory and internal standards 
•    Maintain laboratory instruments, including routine calibration, troubleshooting, and performance checks 
•    Adhere to all laboratory safety, compliance, and quality requirements 
•    Support general laboratory operations as needed, including sample handling and workflow coordination 

EXPERIENCE
Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (GC/MS and/or LC-MS/MS) preferred
Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g., SAMHSA, CLIA, or similar) preferred
Familiarity with quality control procedures and laboratory documentation practices required
Experience in high-throughput or production laboratory settings preferred

EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline required

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
•    Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM 
•    Training Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday – 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM
