We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Laboratory Supervisor in Tucson, Arizona. This role will ensure the safety, compliance, and smooth day-to-day operations of Research & Development laboratories by overseeing lab infrastructure, equipment management, and regulatory adherence. Their work will have a direct impact on enabling scientific teams to operate efficiently and safely, making this a highly impactful career opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate, oversee, and authorize use of designated laboratory spaces, including access, orientation, supply management, equipment usage, cleaning, and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, documentation standards, and quality system requirements
• Enforce laboratory safety practices, including the authority to restrict access, require retraining, and escalate issues to management when necessary
• Manage and maintain laboratory documentation to ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Review equipment and instrumentation records (e.g., logbooks, chart recorders) and resolve documentation discrepancies with users
• Serve as the primary point of contact between lab users, scientific staff, and cross-functional partners (e.g., Facilities, Calibration teams)
• Coordinate installation, calibration, validation, relocation, and repair of laboratory equipment to minimize disruption to project teams
• Ensure laboratory infrastructure and services are maintained to support R&D operations
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for lab operations, equipment management, and media preparation
• Mediate lab user conflicts and escalate issues when appropriate
• Participate in on-call support for laboratory excursions or incidents
• Support continuous improvement of lab processes and operational efficiency
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in laboratory operations, lab management, or supervisory role required
Hands-on experience managing laboratory environments within a regulated setting preferred
Experience with equipment coordination (calibration, validation, maintenance) required
Familiarity with quality systems, documentation practices, and safety compliance required
Experience supporting cross-functional scientific teams preferred
EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field required
Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered
