Associate Scientist II

OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Associate Scientist, Process Sciences in Cambridge, MA. Their work will have a direct impact on the organization and the larger clinical industry, making this an amazing career opportunity.

We are seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to join the Process Sciences group, supporting the process development to incorporate novel chemistries into our manufacturing platform for siRNA therapeutics. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career scientist looking to gain hands-on experience in processing, manufacturing, and process development of oligonucleotide therapeutics within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The Associate Scientist I will work closely with senior scientists and engineers to execute laboratory operations, collect and document data, and support process optimization and technology transfer activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support process development, optimization, and scale-up of bioconjuagtion processes.
  • Support oligonucleotide synthesis method development, optimization and scale-up
  • Execute laboratory-scale processes to support research and in-house material needs
  • Perform routine in-process analytical tests (e.g., pH, conductivity, UV, basic chromatography)
  • Assist in process development for novel chemistries
  • Operate laboratory and analytical equipment after appropriate training
  • Accurately document experimental work following good documentation practices (GDP)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Process Development, Analytical Sciences, and Manufacturing
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace

EXPERIENCE

  • 0–2 years of laboratory experience (academic, co-op, internship, or industrial experience acceptable).
  • Oligonucleotide experience required.
  • Experience with Bioconjugation, antibodies, and peptides highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as pH, conductivity, HPLC, or LC-MS is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality laboratory documentation
  • Willingness to learn regulated laboratory practices and manufacturing workflows
  • Ability to work collaboratively, follow instructions, and manage time effectively
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience.

EDUCATION

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
