OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as an Occupational Health Nurse in Santa Clara, California. The Occupational Health Nurse provides for and delivers health care services to workers and worker populations within an occupational setting to assist ill and injured employees to reach maximum health and productivity. Their work will have a direct impact on the organization and the larger clinical industry, making this an amazing career opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with management and the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to align health initiatives with corporate objectives.
• Serve as a health resource for management, advising on programs and initiatives to promote workplace health and safety.
• Conduct initial assessments of occupational injuries, illnesses, and exposures, providing treatment or referrals per clinical guidelines.
• Evaluate both occupational and non-occupational sudden illnesses occurring at work, determining the need for emergency care or personal healthcare provider referrals.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans, including primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention strategies.
• Identify cases requiring early intervention to optimize outcomes and facilitate return-to-work programs.
• Coordinate and document treatment, case management processes, and administrative aspects of care.
• Lead emergency response teams and coordinate mock drills.
• Establish communication plans with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient case management.
• Monitor and evaluate healthcare providers and vendors to ensure quality care delivery.
• Work with employees and supervisors on return-to-work planning, including accommodations and modified duty.
• Provide health-related counseling and training for employees and supervisors.
• Conduct new hire orientation, including bloodborne pathogen and radiation safety training for commercial field workers.
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety and monitoring programs.
• Perform workplace assessments, exposure follow-ups, and maintain confidentiality of health records.
• Contribute to policy development, research, and professional growth to uphold Occupational Health Nursing standards.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or occupational medicine
EDUCATION
• Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), California Registered Nurse (RN) License, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Preferred: Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN), CPR/AED Certified Instructor
